In our first Fellow Friday, we meet Veronika Bračič, PhD fellow at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet). Her research explores biomarker-guided gene therapy for neurodegeneration, Huntington’s disease.Veronika is working to better understand how we can identify whether new therapies are having an effect, addressing one of the challenges in developing treatments for Huntington’s disease: the lack of specific and robust biomarkers.But her PhD is more than science. In the interview, Veronika shares what first drew her to this field, what she finds exciting about her research, what she has learned in the early start of her PhD journey, and what being part of the DARA community means to her.
