DARA Ecosystem Committee holds first meeting

The DARA Ecosystem Committee held its in augural meeting on 3rd December, bringing together experienced experts from across the scientific fields covered by the academy. The committee is responsible for shaping DARA’s education and activity programme between and within disciplines and will meet up to four times per year.

At the meeting, DARA’s Director Philip Hallenborg was confirmed as Chair of the Ecosystem Committee.  Discussions covered priorities for the education programme, including induction activities for new fellows, summer schools, winter activities, development of interdisciplinary events, and workshops to support excellence in doctoral supervision. An overview of the recent Community of Practice Day was also shared by James Hairsine, DARA’s Educational and Stakeholder Officer, highlighting key themes raised by PhD school representatives.
